Victoria

From Gold Coast we jumped another quick flight to Melbourne.  It was time to explore Victoria.  Our overly gracious buddy Dave lent us his sweet wheels so we could do some exploring including the Great Ocean Road and the Yarra Valley.  We finally went out and checked out his side of Vic to see how the Gippsland would treat us.

A little slice of home in Melbourne.

A summer's day picnic.

Driving the Holden Commodore like a true bogan.

A furry friend is coming down for a visit.

Riding the tram.

Some yummy Yarra Valley wines.

I'm going to find a hoppy friend here soon.

What a ranga.

"Hey, did you know that's the most southern point in mainland Australia." "Yupp, it said so on the map."

Queensland

For the holidays, we packed our very small bags and headed to the warm south.  Like the very warm south.  We spent time in Australia.  First stop was the Gold Coast.  Our host, Gabi, welcomed us to her amazing home in Surfer's Paradise. We enjoyed some sun, and beach, and a nice family atmosphere to soak up the summer!

Hip and cool Surfer's Paradise.  We had no idea our host was so in the scene.

Christmas concert on the beach.

Buying the shrimp right off the boat.

An Australian Brush Turkey.  And I was worried about my second chin.

Sneaking another Australian state onto the list.
