Little Austrians in the Big City

The Maders came to visit from Austria.  They had quite a trip, lots of walking, wine, and aweonao.  Below are some photos, primarily taken by Eva's mother Christine, from Santiago, Valparaiso, and Farellones.

Bosque Valdiviano

After a busy life, Eva and I took a weekend trip to Valdivia to take in the fresh air and lots of fresh food.  We took the bus from Santiago late at night Friday, arrived in Valdivia early Saturday morning and spent two days eating, relaxing, and walking around the forested areas.  We took the night bus back on Sunday in time to arrive Monday morning for a full work week.

A view, from Las Nieblas on the Pacific coast, in land to the bay created by Rio Validiva.  On the horizon you can see a snow capped volcano!

Dancing Cueca

This year for 18 we went to our friends Raf's family place in El Monte to celebrate the Chilean Independence Day.  We had Antichucos, home-made Empanadas, and Chicha.  At night we went to the Fonda in Talagante to celebrate, drink Terremotos, and dance!

Making Antichucos.
