After finishing our trip in East Africa we took a flight from Kigali to Johannesburg to start our Southern Africa loop. We met my wonderful mother in the Joburg airport. We stayed a few days in the township of Soweto outside of central Joburg in the Vilakazi neighborhood in Orlando West. The neighborhood is famous for having both the houses of the Mandelas and the Tutus. After a few hot and cold days in the city we headed out on Safari in the famous Kruger National Park. We went with the company Wildlife Safaris. During our four days in the Kruger we saw 4 of the Big 5 (missing the leopard of course) as well as impalas, kudus, hippos, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, a lonely cheetah, sabel antelope, a civet, honey badgers, nile crocodiles, and many other antelope, small animals, and birds.
