Vienna International Private Marathon

Writing a Master's thesis was the perfect opportunity to train for a marathon. The forced training also helps maintain a health lifestyle at a time when mental self-motivation is pressing. So I signed up for the Salzburg Marathon in mid-May, made a 16 week training schedule, trained while traveling, stessed about finding time, and then sat at home for last few months. COVID-19 spared no event, all marathons the world over were cancelled. Not to be dissuade, I kept training. More whispers of closing of parks entered my ears. I stared at the schedule, counted the days, googled "how stupid is skipping your marathon training schedule" and finally said screw it, let's do it on Friday. Eva very kindly took a day off to bike with me and supply me with Vitamin B each 5 kilometers to keep me motivated until the end.

Not missing work.

At the halfway point.

Getting some high quality vitamin B.

Crossing the finish line set up by Eva.

Proof of the feat. Please ignore the time though. The app froze at 41.8 kilometers and I had to hold my phone and cross my fingers until it came back 15 minutes later.
